Deerfield Firearms Training Facility, Inc. is located in Deerfield,
New York near Utica, N.Y. very close to the NY thruway. Call for
directions. Our range is indoors and open April 1st - December 1st. During the year we hold Basic Pistol classes every month and Personal Protection classes every other month. Armed Security classes are on-going as well as our other programs.
Instructors are NRA Certified with many years of experience.
Armed Security Instructors are licensed by the State of NY.
We offer training specific to law enforcement, and the use of
our range - keep your skills sharp. We also offer Hunter Safety,
and a Body Guard course. Please call us if you
have any questions about our training, or the use of our range.

New York: Anti-Freedom Bills Pending Action in Albany

This week, State Senator Eric Schneiderman (D-31), Chairman of the Codes
Committee, introduced Senate Bill 1598, legislation similar to Assembly Bill 801.
This bill directly targets law-abiding pistol license holders by requiring licenses be renewed every five years. In addition, it would mandate that all applicants outside New York City complete training and a test before a license may be issued.
Next week, a dangerous bill, Senate Bill 1069, introduced by State Senator
Carl Kruger (D-27) will be considered by the Senate Codes Committee that will
give the State Police broad authority to outlaw firearms based on what they
look like, how they are assembled, the materials they are made with and whether
they are "readily" detectable by "standard security equipment."

January 13th 2006 - New York
Effective immediately, Governor Perry has issued a proclamation that allows persons with concealed handgun licenses issued by the state of New York to legally carry in Texas. All New York license holders will be required to follow Texas law while carrying in this state. New York City issues a separate concealed handgun license (permit) and this permit will also be recognized under this proclamation. This proclamation is unilateral and is not a reciprocal agreement. Texas concealed handgun license holders will not be allowed to carry in New York.

Statement on S. 397, the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act"
On Wednesday, October 26, 2005, the President signed into law:S. 397, the "Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act," which prohibits liability actions against firearms or ammunition manufacturers and sellers for unlawful misuse of their products; prohibits sale of a handgun unless the purchaser is provided with a secure gun storage or safety device; and provides for minimum sentences when armor piercing ammunition is used in certain crimes.
