The New
York State Hunter Safety Course is required for first-time hunters
who wish to obtain a hunting license. Students must be a resident
of New York and be 12 years or older. The student license is actually a
learner's permit. Unsupervised hunting is not allowed.
A parent or legal guardian must accompany and register students
16 years of age and younger. Information on class dates or times
can be found on this page.
